Youth Court is a voluntary alternative to the criminal justice system for first time offenders between the ages of 7-15 who have committed a misdemeanor. Youth Court is operated by youths aged 13-19. The youths are trained and must pass a "bar exam". They serve as judges, fact attorneys, law guardians, clerks and bailiffs. An adult oversees the court.
