This department plans, promotes, and coordinates a variety of special activities to emphasize the well-being of the youth in the City of Jamestown. Provides advice when meeting with private and public agencies regarding treatment and prevention of juvenile delinquency and youth development. Reviews and approves applications of agencies to participate in recreation and youth service projects. Maintains and records the extent and nature of juvenile offenses. Actively researches and evaluates the effectiveness of programs and treatment methods. Refer youth with needs or problems to appropriate agencies and individuals.
