Mayor Teresi Buys First Boxes of 2011 Girl Scout Cookies

Mayor Teresi Buys First Girl Scout Cookies of 2011

Mayor Sam Teresi bought the first boxes of Girl Scout Cookies on Wednesday (Nov. 2, 2011) from the Girl Scouts of Western New York Brownie Troop 20030, which meets at Roger's School in Jamestown.  Pictured are, from left to right, Jillian Rea, Annika Spitzer, Hannah Grey, and Cecelia Eklum.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is America's leading business and economic literacy program for girls.  The local troop's visit to the Mayor's Office was a way to teach the girls to use their sales and marketing skills.  They are taking part in the organization's overall goal to sell 1.6 million boxes this year.
