Project Description:
Completion of the next phase of the Chadakoin Riverwalk System in Brooklyn Square from Main Street to Panzarella Park on the south side of the river, and on the north side, from Main Street to the planned location of a pedestrian bridge that eventually will link both sides of the river.
Project Financing:
N.Y.S. Department of State Environmental Protection Fund: $210,000
City of Jamestown Materials and In-Kind Work: $210,000
Total Project Cost: $420,000

Project Features:
- Permanent overlook area with seating, approximately 260 feet long x 40 feet wide. This area will be constructed with pavers and will retain a number of exiting trees to create a very pleasant area along the water’s edge.
- Approximately 1292 linear feet of pathway on the south side of the river completing the trail from Main Street to Panzarella Park. The pathway will be asphalt and have pedestrian-scaled lighting to illuminate the path.
- Approximately 422 linear feet of asphalt pathway on the north side of the river completing the trail from Main Street to an area west of Washington Street Bridge where the pedestrian bridge is planned to cross the river. The pathway will be asphalt and have pedestrian-scaled lighting to illuminate the path.
- Renovations to the Panzarella Park Bridge to improve access and safety to the existing park area.
- Continues existing Riverwalk projects, including the portion on the north side of the Chadakoin River from Institute Street to the east of Main Street, and the portion on the south side of the river from Main Street to just under the Washington Street Bridge.
Project Completion Date: Early to Mid November
