The City of Jamestown collects Real Property Taxes for the City of Jamestown, Chautauqua County, and delinquent Real Property Taxes for Chautauqua County.
Jamestown and Chautauqua County Real Property Taxess
City of Jamestown and Chautauqua County Real Property Tax Bills are mailed at the end of December each year and are payable in full at the City Treasurer’s Office or at the Board of Public Utilities from January 1 to March 31.
Payments can be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office, the Board of Public Utilities at 92 Steele Street, mailed to P.O. Box 150, Jamestown, NY 14702-0150, or dropped off in drop boxes located on Tracy Plaza, the City Hall lobby, the Police Department entrance on East Second Street or the Board of Public Utilities at 92 Steele Street.
Tax payments must be received or postmarked by the United States Postal Service (postmarks produced by home/office postage machines are not sufficient) on or before the due date to avoid penalties and interest. Due dates that fall on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday are automatically extended to the next business day. Postdated checks cannot be applied to taxes due, and will be returned to the issuer, which may result in late payment penalties.
Delinquent Real Property Taxes owed by property owners in the City of Jamestown or Chautauqua County can be paid in installments.
