Reports of Committees & Projects
Report from Parks, Recreation & Conservation Commission: Luke Fodor talked to City Department of Development Director Vince DeJoy about the properties along the river that the owners wanted to sell to either the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy or the City of Jamestown. Vince was aware of the offer, said the properties would be a great addition to the Riverwalk/park, but we need money to do it. Luke said he was going to follow up with the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation next.
Riverwalk Stabilization Project (part of tour): Twan Leenders said the permit application is with the Department of Environmental Conservation now. It has cleared Fisheries. The river was a mud flat last week. Twan is checking in with the BPU today and the county will be working on the North Main Street Bridge, so the water will be down again. He said Chautauqua Soil & Water is ready to go and has the rip-rap. Twan said a 15-day public review period is needed by the DEC once they give their approval. That period starts as soon as the DEC gives the approval and the notice is published. Twan said they have the permit to do the first 500 feet of the project but the project total is 800 feet. He’s hoping that the DEC will allow them to start that 500 feet of project first. Dave Anderson asked who gets the approval to draw down the water level. Twan said the BPU does.
Bridge Event: Julia said there is a staff meeting with Bill Stevenson on Friday about the Bridge Event to start discussions on the date and what the event will entail.
Discussion: Good Of The Order
The next meeting is Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 5:30 pm.
