Foreclosure Information

City of Jamestown NY Vacant and Abandoned Property Prevention

Received a foreclosure notice?

If you’ve received a notice that your mortgage is in foreclosure or might soon be, it is important to know your rights and responsibilities. There are a variety of federal and state programs, like HAMP, HOPP and MAP, that might help you stay in the home. Even if there aren’t options to keep the home, there may be options to ease the transition, such as a short sale, deed-in-lieu or cash for keys settlement.

Our program can walk you through all of these terms and provide legal information on the foreclosure process geared toward the Jamestown homeowner. We can also connect you to lawyers and housing counselors who may be able to work directly with you.
